Build a travel friendly wardrobe foundation with Parasol Rose

It may have been easy, pre-2020, to take travel for granted. At a moment’s notice we were able to jet off to sunnier climes when the great British weather didn’t suit us, or plan far-flung adventures with no concerns other than what to pack. So when that all disappeared, boy did we miss it! Needless to say we’re never taking travel for granted again, and planning adventures again feels all shiny and new. Perhaps we’re entering a new golden age of travel? If so, we’re allowing ourselves to feel a little glamorous and decadent while globetrotting once again.

Read on for our guide to travel-friendly looks that add a little luxe and a renewed sense of occasion to our travel wardrobe.

Dressing for a weekend on the Cote d’Azure

Bring some old-world glamour to your wardrobe when packing for the South of France. The food, the beaches, the crowd, the wine… all of it is endlessly gorgeous and we love to dress the part. As well as silk camisoles for layering under cashmere wraps on the plane, our must-pack item is the silk kimono robe. Imagine sitting on your terrace at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in your decadent silk robe, sipping a Bellini. Heavenly.

Long-haul flight must-haves

Comfort is key when flying, especially when you have to contend with icy-cold cabin temperatures before landing somewhere tropical. But thankfully, silk clothing is not only the chicest, but often the most practical choice when traveling. It’s naturally insulating yet breathable, helping you cope with the changes of temperature. Slip a silk camisole and pyjama trousers on for your flight, and layer up with lightweight knits which you can remove once you land, sunnies in hand. We recommend our timeless Grace silk cami top and matching pyjama pants.

Chic city break essentials

Whether it’s 24 hours in Paris, a romantic break to Rome or a girls’ trip to Barcelona, a weekend away is always a good idea. We recommend packing a silk slip, naturally, as it’s endlessly versatile. But for a statement look that feels fresh and contemporary, try our new silk pyjama top, effortless tucked into jeans and dressed up with heels. It’s a cosmopolitan take on pyjama dressing that’s very this spring.

But wherever you’re off to, we must leave you with our number one travel tip: roll, don’t fold. Bon voyage!
